A Note of Appreciation to Evan Woolley

I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to outgoing Ward 8 Councillor, Evan Woolley, for all he has done for our community and for Calgarians.

Evan and his team have shown unfailing support and guidance for our community association and its initiatives. This support was never needed more than in 2020. As we were challenged to support our community, Evan was there every step of the way. Guidance, inspiration, advice, and assistance was always just a phone call away. Councillors are some of the busiest, most in-demand folks in Calgary, yet he always made time for us.

I can personally attest to Evan’s hard work and passionate advocacy, having seen it firsthand. I am told these qualities were apparent right from his early days on the board of the Cliff Bungalow – Mission Community Association (CBMCA). He carried that spirit forward into his service for Calgary, and he will leave behind a legacy of advocacy that has made meaningful, material benefits to the lives of Calgarians. He is without a doubt one of the most hardworking members of Council, and it shows.

So, it is with admiration and gratitude that I sincerely thank Evan for all he has done, and wish him and his family only the very best for their present and future endeavours.

Oh, and a special shout-out goes to Executive Assistant Jill Mawer at the Ward 8 office, and the rest of the Ward 8 team. EAs work every bit as hard as Councillors (some might say harder!), and are the unsung heroes of city governance. Jill is an absolute star, and I wish her all the best, too.

Best,

Ted
